The Fashion Show designers felt the pressure when they had to get their designs into the show. It’s not something that’s just handed to you and the designers knew that when they decided to enter The Fashion Show 2012. Not only do the designers have to worry about their clothes getting in, they also have to worry about picking the model they want to wear their clothes in the audition and then if they make it, on the runway.
Anna Mackin, junior in apparel merchandising and design production, gave all the details on what it takes to have the perfect model and designer relationship.“You need someone you can trust to take care of your garment, someone you work with well.” Mackin chose another fellow AMDP major, freshman Michelle Reuss, to model her apparel. Michelle is also in the same sorority as Mackin, Delta Zeta, and knew this was something very special to her.
“Wearing garment that someone close to you designs is special, and at the same time very nerve wrecking, I just want to wear it well.” Michelle explained that this fashion show means the world to the designers and she wants to make Anna happy. Both the model and the designer said it’s special to do this with a friend and makes it more fun.
The model designer relationship has to work well, or it’s very hard to make sure everything will work out the way the designer wants it to. The pair works perfectly together and is ecstatic for The Fashion Show 2012 next weekend. Get your tickets soon for The Fashion Show 2012, it’s not something to miss!
